Soula Angelou
, a native of Greece, adds an international flavor to our writers group. For many years, Soula worked as a personal executive assistant to internationally known author Taylor Caldwell and has been working on a book based on this experience.

Sandy Barton retired from the Williamsville School District after having taught Pre-school, Kindergarten, and First Grade for 22 years and 9 years as Gifted Programming Specialist for K-4. That, coupled with living a “Brady Bunch” life, contributes to an unending stockpile of writing material that keeps the memories alive and well.

Larry Beahan, Buffalo native, Psychiatrist and Air Force veteran, continuously battles to preserve our natural environment. In addition to writing about his deep family roots in the Allegheny and Adirondack areas, his stories often capture the wildness of many characters living in Western New York. Patricia Brown has an M.A. in U. S. History, a Ph.D. in Political Science/Public Administration and is currently the Vice President of Enrollment at Daemen College.

Deborah A. Dickinson is a freelance writer who resides in WNY. She is a member of the Association for Professional Women Writers and the Network of Biblical Storytellers.

Nancy Dickinson, a lifetime resident of this area, writes memoirs.

Mary Jo Hodge has a B.A., M.S. and a Doctorate in Public Administration. After working for over thirty years in the field of mental health, Mary is interested in quilting, writing, Tai Chi, social bridge, reading, gardening, floral arranging, travel and family activities with her husband Charles, her two daughters and her granddaughter.

Linda A. Lavid, an award-winning author, is widely published in fiction and nonfiction. She gives presentations thoughout Western New York on writing and publishing. Amazon Book Page

M. Leslie was raised in the Western New York countryside, but has always longed for Paris and points East. She believes that writing can be an act of great healing through the simple act of revealing what is true.

Mike Miller, a retired computer software engineer, began writing for fun in 2004. His writing includes fiction, nonfiction, poetry and word search puzzles. Facebook

Lionel Nosenchuck, our capable leader, has a B. A. in English Literature from Ohio State University and continues to hone his stories as an Erie County advocate for the elderly into an exciting and informative book. 

Carl Francis Penders answers much more than the question in Why I Write. His unique, edgy voice is energetic, demanding our attention as he opens his heart about writing, the topic that ties us all together.

Raymond Thomas was born in Guyana and is now a chemist in Buffalo. He has learnt to love pizza and chicken wings as much as pepperpot and writes a variety of stories that often challenge physics and the universal laws of nature. 

Fred Tomasello Jr., Over Coffee’s 2009 editor, is a Vietnam veteran who retired from the Tampa Postal Service, traveled for five years as a full-time RV’er and settled in Cheektowaga where he writes about issues affecting veterans. Amazon  YouTube

Lois Vidaver celebrates her 30th year as a newspaper and magazine writer and believes firmly that in matters literary, belonging to a writer’s group is essential. She says Northside has been inspirational, helplful and caring and has critiqued many of her submissions before they were published.

Pamela Walck, a graduate of the Dallas Theological Seminary, is a follower of Jesus currently working as a physical therapist at ECMC. She enjoys going to the gym, writing, teaching, and going on mission trips to spread the Gospel. Her prayer is that others would follow Jesus as their Savior and that her writing would help to persuade them.
